But I know what you’re going through – my family “commission” (e.g. they buy the canvas but don’t actually pay me) for my paintings. My guidance is typically something like ‘I don’t like green’, or ‘i want it to match my living room’. So I go and spend a few weeks on a painting and sometimes they end up hating it. I guess I’d rather them be honest than pretend to like it – but I agree with the first commenter, if you’re going to be picky, then you need to clearly define what you want!

It would have been more helpful if your mom had given you more direction about what she really wanted. I think the quilt turned out cute and somebody will love it I am sure. I have made quilts that just didn’t work out, I think we all have. It is just part of being a quilter unfortunately. Start a new quilt and quit worrying about that one. There’s always next time.
